Necessity just forced me to look up the word 'hanger' in Dictionary.com - one of my authors had, I suspected, misspelled it within the context of her paper, and I needed to check that an alternative spelling was needed.
Anyway, Dictionary.com lists five definitions for 'hanger', and interestingly enough one of them is this:
5. a light saber of the 17th and 18th centuries, often worn by sailors.
No prizes for how I misconstrued that first part of the sentence before I figured out what they meant. I think I need to put the Star Wars obsession to bed.
